Levana Kovo

Born and educated in Haifa, Israel, with a degree from the Rubin Music Academy, Levana Kovo brings over 46 years of teaching and private tutoring experience to the public.

 

Levana's early career began in Mexico where she taught music, Israeli folk dancing, Judaism, and Hebrew language to all ages.

​

Levana then moved to the US in 1982 and has been teaching Hebrew Language and Judaism, from beginner to advanced, in school settings including Kindergarten, Elementary, Middle, and High School, afternoon school, Talmud Torah, and Sunday school. In addition to the classroom, she does private tutoring for college students and adults--Jewish or not--who are interested in Modern Conversational Hebrew. Levana has been working with Jewish Federation programs for high-schoolers for over 20 years.

She has expanded her repertoire of teaching to include classes in all areas of Jewish living such as understanding the Siddur (Jewish prayer book), learning how to pray, conversion classes, and Biblical Jewish text. 

​

Levana speaks fluent English, Spanish as well as Hebew. She has over 46 years experience preparing young children for Bar and Bat Mitzvah, for all stripes of Judaism: Reform, Conservative, and Orthodox. 

​

Levana currently trains and teaches high school students 9th-12th grade at the Atara High School of Cincinnati. 

​

Levana uses the the prestigious and state of the art program: "Bishvil Ha-Ivrit"!

 

Levana has recently developed an advanced curriculum for preparing high school seniors and college students for successful travel to Israel.
